With the aim of providing access to quality medical and therapeutic care to members of the transgender community, Project T.R.Y. (Trans-health, Rights and Youth Advocacy) was established in 2021.  

Mission Statement

A social initiative, Project T.R.Y. focuses on bridging the gaps that exist in medical practice that adversely affects transgendered individuals through accessible, curated information and resources that has been built to empower the trans community in India. 

In addition to creating awareness material and curating resources for wellbeing, Project T.R.Y. is dedicated to collect the lived experiences of the trans community and their experiences access medical care, which will then be consolidated and shared with medical professionals, institutes and other organizations who are committed to creating a more equal and compassionate medical field. The transgender community has existed and flourished in the Indian subcontinent for centuries - they are represented in Indian mythology, folklore, and various other art forms. It wasn’t until very recently that transgender individuals in the country were recognised legally - however, we still have a long way to go to ensure that stereotypes, prejudices and discriminatory practices against this community are completely eradicated.
